Surviving and Thriving in Higher Education
Добавлен 9 апр 2016
Overview: This RUclips Channel is an online resource for graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, and junior scientists to navigate their path and learn from the experiences of others. Faculty members and scientists in the fields of chemistry and chemical engineering are invited to share their tips on developing a successful career. We have presentations on 3 categories: technical skills, soft skills, and health in higher education.
This channel is a tool for training and mentoring scientists.
Mission: Students in higher education are trained in science, however many skills that are required to have a successful career in science are not taught or learned. In graduate studies, students face so many surprises and struggles that simply can be avoided or managed better. We want to help by providing online mentorship through our videos. Students can use this Channel as a complimentary tool to learn from world-leading scientists whom they might never get a chance to meet directly.

Depression in Graduate Studies-Awareness, Prevention, and Early Intervention (by Dr. Matthew Hanson)
I took my medication for a few months and I don't know if it helped or not either. I struggle to build good habits because I don't have a long term goal. I felt like Paul Smith didn't want me to get out of the lab and enjoy athletic activities to turn off the stress. I thought a volleyball group was a more productive outlet for the department's stress than drinking, but Paul Smith and Christer Aakeroy seemed to think drinking was better for students than volleyball.
교수님 유학할 때 도움 많이 받았습니다 감사합니다 ㅜㅜㅜ
Great Explanation and Suggestion. Really helpful for a researcher. Thanks.
好记性不如烂笔头
This is a great content! Thanks for sharing all these useful advices!
i don't think weekends should be for working. the rest is good advice.
I wrote a paper in 2 hours. Only because it was base off my own ideas. Now this research paper gonna take me a few days.
Don't procrastinate very good point, Professor. I'm writing my first White Paper for Business Communication
This is amazing. Thank you Sir!
ChatGPT now is your friend 😂

"The magic of experience"..... Thanks a lot, Professor for this great video!! Very helpful, concise and well-organized algorithm. And thanks for the great references too. I am a PhD in Physics student and I think this video can help any Science & Engineering students, not just Chemistry 😃
Thanks!!!!
Wao! I was too much worried about writing a research paper and Professor Pete Carr guidelines makes me confident. Thank you, professor. You are real mentor.
Don't procrastinate. Let me help. You'll love the results!
Thank you Professor Carr
very nicely said and so simple ! Thank you!
Writing papers still sucks. Most of us will not be doing papers in our careers. I will say it's rewarding when you write a decent paper, but in the end, it's like playing a video game and getting an achievement, in the end, it means nothing and a complete waste of time.
Just write... I didn't know how much I wanted to hear that. I didn't watch the second half of the video
Thank you! My field is in the humanities but this was incredibly useful regardless. Thank you so much for sharing
1. Ask CHATGPT to write paper for you
There are ways to check whether ChatGPT wrote it…you’d risk getting expelled from school
Thank you very much 😊
Thank you very much for the valuable informations 😊
This was very helpfull, after 15 years of procrastination i might finally finish my first paper.
i am in the social sciences but i still enjoyed this video.
